Some energy learning,
like Qi Gong,
requires a lifetime of training to master. |

There are several Reiki systems: Usui Reiki, Tibetan Reiki, Karuna Reiki,
maybe more. To my knowledge, all the Reiki systems involve a ritual
referred to as 'Initiation' or 'Attunement, a method of transferring an
awareness from the teacher to the student, speeding up the learning
process. Usui Reiki can be learned in one weekend. Other energy learning like Qi Gong requires a lifetime of
training to master energy.
Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui [1865-1926] a Japanese individual
familiar with the traditional philosophies of Tibet, China and Japan. The
beauty of the system is in its simplicity and the simpler the
understanding of it, the more powerful the results. Tools we westerners
call 'symbols' are used to increase our focus. The Usui Reiki system uses
four 'symbols'.
In a Reiki session, both the client and the practitioner stay fully
clothed. The purpose of Reiki is to transfer subtle healing energy to a
client. This is done with the laying on of hands. The touch is light, and
the hands stay stationary. In some situations, the hands may be placed two
to five centimeters above the body. Since the energy is transferred by a
powerful focus, it can travel though time and space and therefore can be
given to a person placed in another room or to a person living on the
other side of the planet.
Each individual experiences Reiki in their own way!
* Please Note: Reiki is not offered nor
taught as a substitute for or replacement of any therapies for physical,
